Hi, I’m Matthew Teo,
I’ve been playing badminton for 12 years and coaching for the last 6—both privately and at Wesley College, where I helped lead the team to multiple Dublin championships during my time there.
I began coaching to stay connected to the badminton community while in college. During that time, I was part of the TUD team that won the InterVarsity Championship in 2023. I’ve also completed the BWF Shuttle Time coaching course.
I focus on building solid habits and foundational skills—particularly footwork, racket grip, and swing technique. I believe repetition is key, especially when the pressure is on during matches or tournaments.
If you're a beginner, intermediate player, or looking for a technical refresher and guidance on shot selection, I’d be happy to help you improve your game.
Hi, my name is Sophia Noble,
I’m a professional badminton player on the Sport Ireland High Performance Pathway Program for the LA and Brisbane Olympic Games. I’ve been competing internationally for over a decade, reaching a top 150 world ranking in women’s singles, a top 33 ranking in Europe and top 15 globally as a junior. I’m also proud to be a three-time Irish Women’s Singles National Champion! I’ve coached players of all ages and levels across Ireland, from beginners picking up a racket for the first time to experienced athletes preparing for competition in singles, doubles and mixed. My coaching is friendly, flexible, and tailored to what you want to get out of each session—whether that’s improving technique, boosting confidence, or taking your game to a higher level. Alongside on-court training, I can also support you with gym programs, tournament planning, and video analysis to help you build a well-rounded approach to the sport. I’m passionate about making sessions enjoyable and rewarding, and I’m always happy to answer questions or share advice beyond the court. If you’re interested in learning more or booking a session, feel free to book me in—I’d love to help you develop your game and enjoy badminton even more. Hopefully see you on court soon!

Hi, I’m Ken Edgeworth,
I’ve been coaching badminton for over 10 years, working with both individuals and groups across a wide range of ages and skill levels. I first picked up a racket in my late teens, and since then, the sport has become a major part of my life—today I play in Division 1 of the Dublin league.
My coaching philosophy is simple: build strong fundamentals and enjoy the game. I believe that mastering the basics—like footwork, grip, and shot technique—lays the foundation for confidence and long-term improvement. Just as importantly, I like every session to be fun and motivating. I’m passionate about grassroots badminton and love encouraging people to give it a go—no matter your age or experience. Whether you’re just starting out or want to refine your skills, I’d be happy to help you learn, improve, and enjoy everything badminton has to offer.
Hi, Mark Topping here,
I’m a former professional badminton player, having proudly represented Ireland over 50 times between 1994 and 2007.
For the past 16 years, I’ve been passionately coaching both juniors (under 18) and adults.
My coaching philosophy is simple: be encouraging, stay positive, have fun, and focus on developing solid badminton techniques and skills.
Key areas we cover include footwork, grips, serving, receiving serve, and both forehand and backhand techniques.
